Europe on Screen 2011

A festival that has been a cultural window into Europe and a chance to cultivate appreciation for non-mainstream movies. Europe on Screen is now entering its fifth year. 

A short film competition will be held for the first time help from Jakarta Arts Council, Boemboe.org, and Minikino. Filmmakers from 19 indonesian cities have submitted 69 short films to the competition. The selected works will be screened in the EoS Short Film Competition 2011 section.

The theme of the festival, OLD & YOUNG EUROPE, highlights the dynamics between the vastly historical and traditional Europe and the modern Europe and is represented countries that were produced within two decades. These films, which emplo settings of the past and the present, and interpret the theme through various characters and their problems, will be screened in Jakarta from November 4 through 11, and in six other cities (Yogyakarta, Bandung, Denpasar, Banda Aceh, Surabaya, and Semarang) from october 28 through November 24.
